Mrs. Mary Slaman-Forsythe
TTTS Foundation
411 Longbeach Parkway
Bay Village, Ohio 44140

Dear Mary,

Thanks for all your correspondence and for keeping abreast of things! I can’t tell you often enough how valuable the efforts of the Foundation are. This, of course, is mostly the support you give to families whose pregnancy is complicated by the TTTS. Since there are such widely different views of how to best treat the disease, it is small wonder that the families are confused. But, your advice has been helpful to those patients that I get to meet and who bring me their placentas. Thus, it is great that you can pass to the families the “book” that you put together so that they can review factual information at leisure.

In addition, I have enjoyed seeing the placentas of the afflicted pregnancies, and to give the parents first-hand information as to the nature and existence of anastomoses. They also often ask, what to expect when a baby passed away, and the other on lives; and all this has obviously also enriched my ability to compare different situations with one another to better serve the patients in the future.

Thus, many thanks for including me in this service and I hope that the Foundation will continue to prosper!

With best regards,
Sincerely, Yours,

Kurt Benirschke, MD
